London Theatre at its very best whether you visit London in the spring, summer, autumn or winter, you're sure to find a vast choice of different theatre events
to suit your own particular taste or mood. London's theatre events calendar is always busy so you most definitely won't be disappointed!
The West End is the ideal place for those interested in London theatre and of course the arts. Not only does London offer more productions of plays at a more reasonable price than one would experience in any other city in the world, but the theatre entertainment is unbelievable to say the least, all this surrounding quite a wide range of styles and periods too.
While staying in the west end of London, you'll soon realize you have a variety of performances to attend. These include plays at the Royal National Theatre, the Young Vic, the Barbican Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, concerts in the Banqueting House, as well as the many famous West End Theatres including the Haymarket, Aldwych, Savoy, Fortune, Wyndham and many other London theatres.
In addition to these performances, I think you should attend the modern dance at the Sadler’s Wells, concerts at the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall. The opera at the Coliseum shouldn't be missed either, and of course the ballet at the Royal Opera House. All of these performances are in Covent Garden.
Because there are so many theatres centered in London, you may stumble upon, and maybe even meet some of the actors, designers, playwrights, directors, and critics who are in this area of the west end of London - they call home.
You may remember in 1986, the film called 84 Charing Cross Road? This was a novel by Helena Hanff's starring Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft, and of course cinema goers will for ever remember Charing Cross Road because of this historic movie. This performance is typical of London theatre, and doesn't get much better than this.

If you think you should buy your theatre tickets ahead of time, I think you should try Ticketmaster which offers a wide range of discounts on West End theatre shows. These performances can be seen on Ticketmaster website. I think you should make the final arrangement regarding group bookings should be made by telephone and not online.
For further details of all the shows and group discounts, the company produces their monthly Ticketmaster Groups Guide, which again, can be reviewed online. GTOs are also able to hold tickets for up to a month without any commitment on your part. GTOs who book regularly with the company should be able to set up a very convenient personal account, allowing more access to more discounts. It's worth investigating I think with Ticketmaster.
Also based in the London Theatre area is The Ticketing Company. It might be best to check out the The company’s Groups Guide too, which is released three times a year and contains information on all its group offers.
Incidentally, the Ticketing Company will also hold tickets for up to a month for you and will offer a package service where it will arrange group accommodation and restaurant reservations too.
