Getting around London
Getting around London is easy:
What I do is purchase a London TravelCard. This is a combination travel card for use on London's public transport, and also allows you free entry to 50
city attractions that include Alexander Fleming’s Laboratory Museum, Cutty Sark, Florence Nightingale Museum, Jewel Tower, Kew Gardens, London Aquarium and the London Zoo.
As you can see, there's much to see in London, so I'll mention a few more places like Tower of London, Hampton Court, Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle, just to name a few.
Incidentally, I recommend you pick up a TravelCard for getting around the city of London. Having a TravelCard will help you explore London from most hotel locations we have selected. Check out the convenient direct link to just a few of the very best hotels in London.
The TravelCard is valid between 09:30 - 12:00 midnight for the buses and the tube. This way you can hop on and off when you like.
Another option is an
Oyster Card. It's another way to get around London's public transport or London Transit.
Using the Oyster Card is the fastest, smartest and easiest way to pay as you travel on the
bus,
Tube, Dock Lands Rail, tram, London Overground and participating
National Rail services.
Transportation in London is pretty cheap. For the price of a cucumber sandwich in Harrods, you can ride all day on London Transport, so it's definitely worth the money. If you're sightseeing in London for a few days, check the sightseeing map of London below, you'll find it invaluable.

Streetmap of London
This streetmap is essential if you're exploring London. The London A- Z is by far the most popular map in London, and will help you get around this complex but fun city! You can purchase the London A-Z Map of London at most bookstores in Main Rail Stations or the underground stations.
